Introduction to UNFCCC Webinar

Prior to COP 27 RINGO prepared a series of Pre-COP webinars along with University Climate Change Coalition (UC3), and Second Nature.  While some content was specific to COP 27, much is still relevant and will be helpful to understanding the UNFCCC for SB58.

Logistics from Secretariat:

SB58 virtual platform: The SB5 virtual platform has been launched for all registered participants. Please make sure to check your access and log-in in advance. Once you enter the platform, you will find a support function by clicking the floating Chat button on the bottom corner of every page.  You can also email the Support Hub by clicking the headphone icon in the left hand menu of your screen. 

Information for participants (IFP): The IFP with logistical and practical information on SB58 is available online here.  Please note that updated information will be posted here as it becomes available. Please check back regularly.

RINGO Constituency meetings:

RINGO will meet each morning beginning Monday, June 05 during SB 58 at 9:00 AM. Tuesday 06 June – Thursday 15 June in Wien 1/2. On Monday June 5 we will meet in in Meeting Room H-2-02. These daily meetings are intended to provide a platform for discussion about the ongoing negotiations, as well as facilitate networking and provide the opportunity to share research results.

NOTE – On Monday June 5 we will meet in in Meeting Room H-2-02 (located in WCC main building, second floor (+1) using the “short staircase” above New York plenary room, down hallway accessed by a door labeled Business 1..

Each day’s agenda will be determined on-site by present Steering Committee members. Short presentation topics are scheduled on the following selected days:

  • Monday June 12 – Week 2 – Welcome
  • Tuesday June 13 – Miriah Kelly, RINGO Steering Committee Member and RINGO thematic group on ocean lead: Update on RINGO ocean interest group work, Presentation Slides
  • Wednesday June 14 – Clara Gurresoe, RINGO thematic group on finance lead: NCQG Update. Presentation Slides
  • Thursday June 15 – Axel Michaelowa, RINGO Steering Committee Member: Article 6 Update. Presentation Slides

Constituency meetings are not posted on the SB 58 daily programme after the first day, but the date and time remain the same unless otherwise indicated.
