Ask Me Anything Webinar: First Conference on Transitioning Away from Fossil Fuels (26 March 2026)

This year, Colombia and the Netherlands will host the First Conference on Transitioning Away from Fossil Fuels as a result of conversations at COP30. This conference is clearly an important new part of the wider ecosystem of the UNFCCC. It will set precedents and act much like a trial-run for the politics of this year’s very complex COP31. 

However not many people know much about this conference, hence ‘ECRs in RINGO’ and ‘OYCNN’ are working together to organize this, online, introductory and engaging ‘Ask me Anything’ Session, which will allow anyone to ask questions to experts who know about this conference.

Daily Early-Career Researcher Session: Debrief, catch-up and pass it on

• When: Every day at COP28, 5pm-5:50pm
• Where: Michigan Technological University Pavilion (Blue Zone) 
• Description: A daily debrief that brings together early career researchers (and others that are interested) to discuss each day, what the reality of COPs are and how we can make them even better. The session will have an emphasis on knowledge and vocabulary sharing and  will produce an easy to read COP28 outcomes report.

Navigating the UNFCCC to make your research matter: Masterclass for Early Career Researchers

• When: Friday 1st December 2023, 12.50-2
• Where: Monash Pavilion (Blue Zone)
• Description: This event encompasses 4 short masterclasses on the UNFCCC and how Early Career Researchers (ECR) can make the most of COP and make their research impactful within the UNFCCC.
  This event plan is based on a co-design process undertaken by ECRs from around the world.
